Everyone wishes, some start, but very few keep going.
How many times have you said or heard one of your friends saying something in the lines of: “That’s an excellent idea!” “We could make millions!” ”I’m going to make this and that and it will be awesome and I’ll be rich in no time!”
How many have started? How many keep going? How many have come true?
Having ideas it’s the easy part. Everyone has a million dollar idea, and believe me, if everyone went for it, the world would be a lot better by now. We are on the path to achieved sustainable, renewable energy, quantum computers, less diseases and stop world hunger. It seems like a distant future, but think about how different was the world 20 years ago. Think how it will be in 20 years. So many possibilities, so much potential.
There will always people like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and all these big players that will push humans one step closer to whatever the future has in stored for us. But it doesn’t have to be tech related (this is just what i’m into). If you’re into fashion, search for ”kelly Nishimoto’ the founder of Cutebooty.
Find what makes you tick and go for it!
That being said, her’s my top 10 signs you have what it takes.
1 – You have a passion!
This one seems obvious, but believe it or not, a lot of people start something because the’re looking for a quick buck. Work on something for a couple of weeks and people will magically follow your brand and buy everything from you. It doesn’t go that way. And if you’re doing it and not enjoying it, might as well don’t start.
2 – You are ready to fail.
Things are more likely to start much slower than expected, be rejected by investors, friends and family don’t agree with the idea, they think you should just play it safe and find a regular 9/5 job. If you hear all this and don’t give up, you’re on the right track. Don’t forget, failure is a part of the journey, be willing to struggle.
3 – You never stop learning.
Learning should not stop after school. The world is in constant change and those who keep up, stay on top. Learn all about the business you want to build and master it.
4 – You value hard work.
Entrepreneurship takes a LOT of time. Forget 40 hours/week, Elon Musk is the perfect example that hard work pays off. But it’s also important to keep balance.
5- You read a lot.
Reading is the best thing ever. Seriously… when reading is like peeking into the writer’s mind, learning about their experiences and how can you use this knowledge in your favor. You can learn from other people’s mistakes, and not make them! It’s also important to follow the news on your competitors.
6 – You can’t stop your brain.
If you’re always thinking how can you improve your business, start a new one, or just come up with crazy ideas, get excited and start googling stuff, you have an awesome brain.
7 – You can mantain focus.
This one might seem to contradict the last one, but only if you try to do everything at the same time. Opening an IT company will require your full attention, so it’s probably a good idea to save that restaurant idea for when you have your first business going smoothly. Take notes of every idea you have, it will come the time to pick the next best thing.
8 – You always look to bring the best in others.
Help others grow is the best way to keep them happy and the most productive they can be. If you hire someone with a passion for software development, but you put them on the sales team, guess what’s going to happen. Find someone that’s right, and keep inspiring them to grow. You should also do this with clients, it will make them loyal.
9 – You enjoy a debate.
Entrepreneurs don’t mind having a tough conversation. Hearing what others have to say is a great opportunity to learn something new, get inspired by others and practice your speech. Meaningless chats about the Kardashians bore you to death.
10 – Your’re emotionally stable
No matther how tough you think you are, running a business will
will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. Things will look impossible, especially in the beginning. You will be discouraged and feel like giving up. Don’t. The best things in life are the hardest to get, and it is worth it. Keep your emotions in check.
These are my top 10 signs you should start planning your business idea.
